A HUUUGE welcome, and a little peek into what I'm currently working on ...
Have you ever felt like you could do so many things, so many incredible possibilities, that you couldn't decide which way to go? How do you choose? If I was like 20 years younger, I'd probably embark some sort of epic journey of travel, food, art and design. I’d soak in all the beautiful things.
Insert comedic record scratch here. But it’s not 20 years ago. I don’t fit into my low rise jeans with the flare bottoms worn away from dragging on the ground. I’m 39. And I just turned, ok, so I’ve got a bit before I hit the big four-oh. But being a little older creates a little more urgency, right? I don’t feel like I have a ton of time to “figure out” what I want to do when I grow up. I mean, I guess I AM grown up. So enough f***ing around! I want to do something that really brings me joy. Something that brings other people joy too! So that’s why I'm so freakin' excited to be starting on this adventure. I've known for a long time that I wanted ( err... NEEDED) to start a business. I knew before I really even knew... if you know what I mean.
If you know me IRL, you won’t wonder how I landed here. I’ve been making things since I was a child and it's always made me so happy. I love how crafting makes me feel. Being able to say "I made that"; it's just so satisfying. If I gave you a tour of my house, I'd say it a lot. Being creative has really spilled over into every area of my life and I couldn't be more grateful. It’s helped me problem solve and keep a positive attitude, even when things might not look so great.

But it's not all glitter and sunshine, friends. I see potential in all the different, random things; things some people might see as trash. And I like to keep it. ALL OF IT.
Ok, ok. My husband is some people. It's him. He's the one who sees it as trash. Shhh… ok, look, maybe some of it is... but, (a.) I’ll never admit that to him, and (b.) when we needed a very specific sized round thing to fix the valve on the pressure cooker so I could finish the chicken, guess who had the perfect thing??? That’s right! This girl did! I bet he was happy that I had saved the extra silicone ear pieces from an old set of ear buds. Cuz they worked like a charm!
So maybe he didn't actually care about the chicken because he hates chicken. But you get the idea.
There was also this time when one of our boys need a shoe box for a school thing. I’m not the mom who was running out at midnight, the night before, to buy a new pair of shoes! Although I wouldn't hate that... 🤔 But, nope, I saved the box from the last time I bought a pair. And the 17 times before that. Yup, I sure showed you! But I’m still on board with buying a new pair of shoes though, don’t worry! BUY ALL THE SHOES. No judgement here.
Ok, I’m getting carried away…
But in all seriousness, the times I've spent crafting are some of my most cherished memories. With friends, the pride in the successes and the hysterical laughing at the fails. Some of my pals look to me as some kind of an authority in the craft world, but I really think it's just that I'm not afraid to go for it. Well, actually I am a little afraid, but I usually feel confident (enough) that I'll be able to work with whatever results. It’s those problem solving skills at work, I guess?
Well, now I'm off... busy working on the first craft socials I'll be doing, my craft kits are being put together, and the online boutique is being stocked (keep an eye on instagram for sneak peaks!
